How was the hbo case study development?
The entire creative process at the very beginning was built around the idea that the final design should not only represent a strong and visually stunning brand image, but above all, increase the usefulness of HBO’s previous projects in the VoD space. The project assumed its existence, based on user research, so that its final version could serve the customers as much as possible. The assumption of the hbo case study was to be based on the two available HBO services released before Max. The whole process has been divided into 3 stages to make it easier to break down into prime factors.
Identification of the problem and customer needs
Nothing other than a survey will tell researchers what the client needs. Going out with the initiative to the users of the platform was the first step in the entire research of the problem. The survey helped us identify user usage patterns and gather information on problems that arise in the daily use of the platform. Thanks to this, it was possible to come to certain conclusions. For example, users mostly rely on their memory to remember what to watch next, or to remember if “Continue Watching” is actually showing them the right episode. Additionally, it was observed that the majority of respondents did not use the evaluation function or did not really notice it. The usability testing showed us firsthand that it is difficult for users to browse content without filtering and sorting.
